Surroundings

The town of Valdaora is located at the base of Plan de Corones, in the heart of Val Pusteria, immersed in the landscape of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park, with a never-ending view of the Alps…

Green slopes, open pastures, and bubbling springs define the countryside, enriched by the unmistakable rock faces and crests of the Dolomite Mountains. The town of Valdaora is made up of four villages: Valdaora di Sopra, Valdaora di Mezzo, Valdaora di Sotto and Sorafurcia, which is at the highest elevation of all.

Thanks to its central location, you can comfortably and easily reach all seven famous valleys. Anterselva Valley is known for its biathlon centre but the Lake Antersleva and Stalle Pass on the border with Austria deserve to be visited, too.

Lake Braies  Mountain

It is also worth visiting Casies Valley, with its wonderful Alpine huts, Braies Valley with the magnificent lake bearing its same name, and the Pätzwiese.

Don’t miss the Tures and Aurina Valleys, with their Mining Museum, Crèche Museum and the numerous wood carvers. Badia Valley is known for the Sellaronda and Dolomiti Superbike, but it is truly unique and has a way of making the heart of any excursionist beat faster.
You can set out along numerous excursions and hikes right from our farm, reaching, for example, Piz da Peres or Punta Tre Dita, travelling along the high Alpine road (Hochalpen ) with its small mountain pond, continuing on to Lake Braies.

Biking  Children

Or, you might prefer to explore Plan de Corones in the summer. You can reach the Furcia Pass with your mountain bike and from there follow the path of the legendary Giro d’Italia race [Tour of Italy] to the zenith of Plan de Corones, or take a trip on the cableway which runs all summer, too.

Plan de Corones  Skiing

In Sorafurcia, you can use your ski pass as soon as you step out the door! The only way to be any closer to the slopes is to be on them! Our farm is located 1.5 km from the Valdaora cable car bottom station. But if you are an alpine skiing enthusiast, you only need to walk out the door to pick up our trail to Piz da Peres. If you don't ski, you can go snowshoeing, ice skate, or even hike through the snow.
